Shirmy Chan of Bar Terumi in KL shares the latest evolution of her Dry Vodka Martini - a study in precision, patience, and temperature control.

With only the barest touch of vermouth, the spotlight stays firmly on the vodka. The real magic, however, lies in her two-step dilution process, designed to achieve the ideal balance of chill and flavor. It's a reminder that when it comes to Martinis, the smallest details often make the biggest difference.

Ingredients:

60ml Vodka

Splash of dry vermouth

3 Skewered olives for garnish

Method:

Add 30ml of vodka into a mixing glass that's half-filled with ice. Stir for a few seconds to dilute, then add ice to the brim and add the remaining 30ml of vodka. Stir quickly for around 60 seconds. Add a splash of dry vermouth into a pre-chilled martini glass and coat the surface. Then transfer 2 barspoons of the vermouth into the mixing glass of vodka (save the remainder of vermouth for another cocktail). Stir briefly, and then strain into the martini glass. Drop the olive garnish into the drink.
